About The Position
The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients in a correctional setting at Dauphin County Prison. The role includes psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication management for individuals with mental health disorders. The Psychiatrist will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide integrated, evidence-based care, maintain accurate medical records, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support the facility’s overall mental health program. This is an onsite position for 18 hours per week.
Requirements
- Current, valid, and unrestricted state license.
- Completion of an accredited graduate or professional program, such as medical school, for advanced clinical roles.
- Current, valid DEA registration, if applicable.
- Active CPR/BLS certificate meeting American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical practice.
Nice To Haves
- Board certification in a relevant specialty, if applicable.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in a correctional healthcare or underserved population setting.
- Experience diagnosing, planning treatment, and providing healthcare services in a managed care or correctional facility setting.
