About The Position

DT-Trak Consulting Inc. is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist for a full-time locum tenens opportunity with the Indian Health Service at Fort Yuma Health Clinic in Winterhaven, California. This is an onsite outpatient behavioral health position serving Native American communities in a collaborative, mission-driven healthcare environment. The selected provider will deliver comprehensive psychiatric services while working alongside an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Current DEA registration
  • Minimum two years of psychiatry experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current PALS certification
  • Eligible for credentialing and privileging through the Indian Health Service
  • Ability to obtain federal security clearance
  • Unrestricted Physician License (Required)
  • DEA Registration (Required)
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Tribal Health, Indian Health Service, Veterans Affairs, Federal Healthcare, Community Health Centers, or Rural Health settings
  • Experience serving culturally diverse patient populations
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Previous locum tenens experience

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Diagnose and treat mental health disorders
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Manage psychotropic medications
  • Provide follow-up psychiatric care
  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, and nursing staff
  • Document patient encounters within the electronic health record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings
  • Provide consultation and support to clinical staff as needed
