About The Position

French Consulting is seeking a Psychiatrist to deliver comprehensive psychiatric services at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Requirements

  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
  • No history of restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, or denied licensure in any jurisdiction
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, including the full scope of services listed above

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with VA Mental Health staff on inpatient care duties, including operating and collaborating on physician patient caseloads, seeing 1C/1D Psychiatry Service ward patients, admitting and diagnosing patients, developing individualized treatment plans, managing and performing timely treatment, coordinating discharge and transfer, and completing all required medical record documentation.
  • See all new patient referrals with accompanying medical records, provide care for severely mentally ill patients, perform evaluation, disposition, and E-consult services, and conduct post-discharge follow-up; patients must be seen within 30 days of discharge.
  • Operate the clinic, examine patients, and interpret reports as required by the VA.
  • Work collaboratively with VA staff across various clinic settings.
  • Provide professional psychiatric expertise for peer review of selected cases, including tort claims, patient and family complaints, Mental Health case reviews, and benefit appeals.
