About The Position

The Psychiatrist at Boston Brain Center is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions through a combination of therapeutic interventions and medication management. This role involves working with a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Requirements

Medical degree (MD or DO) with a specialization in Psychiatry from an accredited institution.
Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychiatrist in the state of practice.
Experience diagnosing and treating a broad range of mental health conditions in diverse populations.
Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills, including medication management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Organizational skills to manage patient care effectively.

Nice To Haves

Subspecialty training or experience in areas such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addiction Psychiatry, or Neuropsychiatry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including clinical interviews, medical histories, and mental health assessments, to determine diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans.
Evaluate the impact of mental health conditions on patients’ overall well-being and functioning.
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychotropic medications as needed, ensuring effective and safe treatment outcomes.
Provide psychotherapy and counseling as appropriate or refer patients to other therapeutic services.
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Offer guidance and education to patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and the recovery process.
Provide support for a range of conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders.
Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
Consult with primary care physicians, schools, or community organizations to support patients’ mental health and holistic well-being.
Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and regulatory standards in psychiatric practice.
Educate patients, families, and the community on mental health topics to reduce stigma and promote awareness.
Advocate for patient needs and support access to resources for ongoing care.
