PSYCHIATRIST In-Patient Weekends (Contract)
About The Position
Springwoods Behavioral Health is seeking a contract weekend psychiatrist to work with its inpatient services team. The hospital provides specialized behavioral health treatment programs for adolescents, adults, women, and senior adults. Psychiatrists work with nurses, social workers, therapists, and other professionals to develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs and strengths. Reporting to the Medical Director, the Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for the medical and psychiatric aspects of admitting and treating patients. The role includes initially and continually assessing patients and providing treatment. The psychiatrist ensures that each patient has an up-to-date treatment plan suited to their psychiatric and medical condition and psychosocial background, and that treatment proceeds effectively according to the plan. The Unit Medical Director evaluates the work based on patient charts, progress of assigned patients, and statistical and anecdotal information.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. with Board Eligibility or Certification in General Psychiatry.
- Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency.
- Arkansas medical license and DEA registration in good standing, or eligibility to obtain them.
Responsibilities
- Manage the medical and psychiatric aspects of patient admissions and treatment.
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments and provide treatment.
- Ensure each patient has an up-to-date treatment plan appropriate to their psychiatric and medical condition and psychosocial background.
- Ensure treatment proceeds effectively in accordance with the treatment plan.
