About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Psychiatrist - CPEP to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln. Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State Medical License.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
  • Stabilize patients in crisis, often involving conditions such as severe depression, psychosis, suicidal ideation, or substance intoxication.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans and coordinate care.
  • Prescribe and manage medications, often with a focus on antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and anxiolytics.
  • Perform psychiatric assessments, including mental status examinations and risk assessments.
  • Deliver psychoeducation to patients and their families, including information about diagnoses, treatment options, and crisis prevention strategies.
  • Document all patient interactions and treatment plans in accordance with medical record-keeping standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in emergency psychiatry.
  • Supervise Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants as needed.
  • Provide supervision and education to medical students and residents.
