About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Psychiatrist to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem. Harlem Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center with centers of excellence in Bariatric Surgery, Breast Imaging, and Sexual Assault Forensics. The hospital serves a large volume of patients annually and maintains an academic affiliation with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem's CPEP provides 24/7 emergency psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention, including a six-bed Extended Observation Unit, to a diverse and underserved community. The multidisciplinary team comprises Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health specialists, delivering care in an academic safety-net setting.

Requirements

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
Active New York State Medical License.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage acute psychiatric, behavioral health, and substance use emergencies.
Work within a multidisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, Nurses, and other behavioral health professionals.
Teach and supervise Psychiatry Residents, Medical Students, and other trainees as applicable.
Respond to consult requests from the Medical ER, Pediatric ER, and Inpatient Medical and Pediatric units, as well as the Inpatient Psychiatric unit after hours.

Benefits

Annual Base Salary: $267,900 (board eligible); $278,200 (board certified) based on 40-hour work week.
Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
401(k) Company Contribution: Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings.
