The Child Psychiatrist is responsible for evaluating and diagnosing mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents and their families. The Child Psychiatrist will also help children, adolescents, and their families manage, ease, or heal a disorder, which may be done by administering treatments or medications in an integrated and holistic care model.

Requirements

  • Doctor Of Medicine (M.D.) degree from a medical school accredited by the American Medical Association or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from a medial school accredited by the American Osteopathic Association.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry.
  • Completion of an approved general psychiatry residency.
  • At least two (2) years of clinical practice experience.
  • Child and adolescent focus but willing to also see adult patients.
  • Current Medical License from the State of California.
  • Current and unrestricted Controlled Substances Registration Certificate from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with Electronic Health/Medical Record systems and Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
