About The Position

Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) is seeking a Per Diem Psychiatrist to join their team. OCHS is dedicated to providing a full range of primary health care and supportive social services to the ten outermost towns of Cape Cod, serving over 20,000 patients annually with a commitment to ensuring no one is denied access to services due to inability to pay. Requirements

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
Board certification in Psychiatry.
Valid state medical license and DEA registration.
Eligibility for malpractice insurance.

Excellent judgment and ability to solve problems in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

Experience in community-based psychiatry and collaborative care models is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide psychiatric consultation for patients referred by primary care, including diagnosis assessment, treatment planning, and management of psychiatric conditions.
Assist primary care providers with diagnostic clarification and determination of appropriate levels of behavioral health and psychiatric care.
Provide recommendations regarding psychotropic medications, including medication selection, dosing, monitoring, potential interactions, and treatment response.
Work closely with primary care clinicians to integrate psychiatric care into the overall healthcare plan.
Collaborate on assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans to maximize patients' well-being.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills in collaborating with all team members within the Psychiatry team and the Primary Care team to provide comprehensive care to patients.
Deliver evidence-based psychiatric care, incorporating the latest research and best practices into patient treatment plans.
Prioritize patient-centered care, fostering a therapeutic alliance with patients and their families to achieve optimal mental health outcomes.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards and timely completion of all documentation, coding and billing within 72 hours of direct patient care.
Stay current with advances in psychiatry through continuous education and training activities, sharing knowledge and expertise with the healthcare team.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of psychiatric services within OCHS.
Adhere to the highest ethical and professional standards, demonstrate empathy, cultural competence, and sensitivity in patient interactions.
