About The Position
The staff psychiatrist leads a Treatment Team and provides direct medical and psychiatric care to patients assigned to that team. The role also provides consultation to colleagues, supervises nurse practitioners and/or physician assistants as requested, and participates in the Medical Professional Staff organization.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Current DEA certificate.
- Completion of an approved residency program in Psychiatry.
- Current BLS or ACLS certification; ACLS is required for those providing on-call MOD coverage at night, weekends, or holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology is preferred but not required.
- Ability to demonstrate satisfactory training, skill, expertise, and knowledge in the treatment of psychiatric patients.
- Work experience with inpatient psychiatric populations is preferred.
