About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a per diem Psychiatrist - Collaborative Care to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center known for its leadership in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health. The hospital maintains an academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The mission of NYC Health + Hospitals is to provide comprehensive health services of the highest quality to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity, and respect, regardless of their ability to pay. This role involves delivering integrated mental health care for patients living with HIV/AIDS within a multidisciplinary team. The psychiatrist will work alongside internal medicine physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and case managers, providing both consultative and direct patient care. The focus will be on diagnosing and treating psychiatric complications of HIV, managing neurocognitive disorders, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to support medication adherence and retention in care. The position also includes participation in clinical care, documentation, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and student supervision, education, and training, as well as innovative integrative care activities.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State Medical License.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver integrated mental health care for patients living with HIV/AIDS as part of our multidisciplinary group.
  • Work alongside a group of internal medicine physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and case managers providing consultative, as well as direct patient care.
  • Focus on diagnosing and treating psychiatric complications of HIV, managing neurocognitive disorders, and collaborating closely with infectious disease physicians, social workers, and case managers to support medication adherence and retention in care.
  • Participate in all activities related to clinical care and documentation of care, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and student supervision, education, and training.
  • Participate in our innovative integrative care activities.
