About The Position

Under minimal supervision, according to professional standards, prepares social histories and evaluations of psychiatric patients' psycho social needs based on data obtained in interviews with patients and families. As a member of an interdisciplinary team, participates in formulating effective treatment and discharge plans. Counsels patients and families on problems related to current hospitalization, and those anticipated post discharge. In particular, focuses on assessing the family's role in current illness and optimizing their contribution to patient's recovery.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in social work.
• 2 years of experience working with acute psychiatric patients.
• Demonstrated ability to work with adult behavior health patients.
• Able to communicate effectively, demonstrating good audio and visual acuity.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• State of Maryland, LCSW or LCSW-C licensure.
