Deliver psychiatric nursing care in an inpatient behavioral health setting where therapeutic relationships, crisis intervention, and interdisciplinary collaboration are central to patient care. You'll provide psychiatric nursing care within an inpatient behavioral health setting, helping patients with complex mental health conditions and developmental disabilities while working alongside an experienced interdisciplinary treatment team. In this role, you'll assess patients, contribute to individualized treatment planning, provide therapeutic interventions, and support crisis response efforts while helping maintain a safe, patient-centered care environment.

Requirements

  • Active NH RN license (or NLC eligibility) with no prior or pending disciplinary actions; current BLS and ACLS required.
  • 3+ years of nursing experience, including 2+ years in inpatient psychiatric nursing and 1+ year in assigned specialty areas.
  • Inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required; home health psychiatric experience does not qualify.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder required; must pass State of New Hampshire background screening.
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients during admissions and throughout treatment, developing and implementing individualized plans of care.
  • Deliver therapeutic nursing interventions, administer medications, monitor treatment effectiveness, and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health professionals, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support positive patient outcomes.
  • Guide and oversee delegated activities performed by LPNs and nursing assistants while maintaining a safe treatment environment.
  • Educate patients and families, advocate for patient rights, and support effective communication with approved stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality standards.
  • Respond to behavioral and medical emergencies, initiate appropriate interventions, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
