About The Position

PrimeCare Medical Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as the Psychiatric Nurse in the Medical Department at the Lancaster County Prison in Lancaster, PA. This is a full-time position with set hours, offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Pennsylvania.
• Clinical decision-making ability is required
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to function independently and demonstrating clinical competency
• Ability to gain trust of patients and build a working relationship

Nice To Haves

• Clinical monitoring, coordinating, and implementing of the mental health program in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards and PCM policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the PCM mental health liaison between the medical unit, facility staff, and psychiatric/psychological services outside the facility.
• Facilitates admission and placement of inmates/patients in forensic and community Mental Health facilities.
• Monitors all psychiatric/psychological services provided.
• Monitor the standards of care in accordance with NCCHC and accepted psychiatric/ psychological standards.
• Is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee.
• Develops and conducts in-service education programs according to annual in-service calendar.
