Pelorus Elder & Behavioral Health is a boutique geriatric and adult psychiatry practice serving skilled nursing and assisted living facilities. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides initial and follow-up psychiatric consultations at assigned facilities, typically seeing approximately 11 to 16 patients per day depending on the mix of visits. Documentation is limited to initial and follow-up progress notes using streamlined one-page templates, along with billing submission. The role does not include hospital-based services, admissions, discharges, rounds, treatment team meetings, or treatment plans. The position includes participation in a telephone-based on-call schedule of approximately one weeknight in seven and less than one weekend per month. Calls are infrequent, and the schedule does not involve on-call rounds or admission or discharge orders. The daily schedule is flexible, with substantial autonomy and support from the practice’s psychiatrists and clinical colleagues. The practice is seeking a clinician to join its growing team. Experience prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications is strongly preferred, though training may be available for the right candidate. PMHNP certification is required in Pennsylvania and ideal in New Jersey; Family and Geriatric certifications are also acceptable in New Jersey. Full-time compensation starts at $130,000, based on experience and résumé, with annual increases and possible productivity bonuses. Full-time benefits options include health benefits, a retirement plan, four weeks of PTO, three CME days with a stipend, and/or reimbursement for license renewals, as well as national holidays off.
