About The Position

Cerula Care is a digital health company specializing in integrated behavioral health services for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. We utilize the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) to partner with oncology practices and health systems, providing a dedicated behavioral health team, tailored programming, and outcomes analysis to address the needs of cancer patients experiencing anxiety, depression, and distress. Our approach is evidence-based and aims to improve behavioral health outcomes more effectively than traditional care. We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to serve as a consulting psychiatric provider for our Colorado patient panel. In this role, you will be the psychiatric expert within a care team, collaborating with Behavioral Health Care Managers, recommending medication and treatment plans, and conducting direct telehealth visits for a small number of patients when necessary. This is a part-time, flexible contract position (approximately 8-10 hours per week) designed for clinicians seeking high-impact work alongside their existing commitments. All work is performed via telehealth.

  • Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited psychiatric mental health NP program.
  • Minimum three years of independent psychiatric prescribing experience with adult populations.
  • Comfort practicing via telehealth and working from an electronic patient registry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a consultant to a care team rather than as a solo practitioner.

  • Experience in psycho-oncology, palliative care, or with medically complex patients.
  • Familiarity with the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM).
  • Experience in a startup or rapidly scaling clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide systematic caseload review with Behavioral Health Care Managers during weekly interdisciplinary team meetings, prioritizing patients who are not improving.
  • Recommend evidence-based medication and treatment plans to referring oncologists and primary care providers, documented in the patient registry.
  • Conduct direct psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits via telehealth for patients requiring specialty assessment.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications with attention to oncologic treatment interactions, symptom burden, and goals of care.
  • Serve as the escalation point for clinical questions from the care team, including risk and safety concerns.
  • Support identification of patients needing a higher level of care and facilitate appropriate referrals.
  • Contribute to clinical protocols, treatment pathways, and quality improvement as our Colorado program grows.
  • Maintain timely, HIPAA-compliant documentation in our clinical systems.
