About The Position

Community Health Center of Central Wyoming (CHCCW) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our behavioral health team at our Casper, Wyoming clinic. This is an excellent opportunity for a psychiatric provider who is passionate about improving access to behavioral healthcare and providing high-quality, patient-centered services to individuals and families in our community. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), CHCCW provides comprehensive healthcare services to patients throughout Central Wyoming, including individuals and families who may face barriers to accessing traditional healthcare.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program.
  • Current, unrestricted Wyoming APRN/NP license or eligibility to obtain Wyoming licensure.
  • DEA registration or eligibility to obtain.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, treatment planning, and medication management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience providing psychiatric services in an outpatient setting.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, or families.
  • Experience working in an FQHC, community health center, rural health clinic, or other community-based healthcare setting.
  • Experience with integrated behavioral health and primary care.
  • Experience treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Experience working with underserved or rural populations.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including mental health histories, psychosocial assessments, and mental status examinations.
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric and behavioral health conditions within the provider's scope of practice.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and, when appropriate, family members and other members of the care team.
  • Provide psychiatric medication management, including prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting medications as clinically appropriate.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment, medication effectiveness, side effects, and potential interactions.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and strategies for improving mental health and wellness.
  • Identify and appropriately address patients experiencing psychiatric or behavioral health crises.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialty behavioral health services, higher levels of care, community resources, and other providers when indicated.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers to address behavioral health conditions within an integrated care model.
  • Participate in care coordination and interdisciplinary case consultation.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, population health, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Promote preventive behavioral healthcare and early identification of mental health concerns.
  • Provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other organizational activities as required.
  • Comply with CHCCW policies and procedures, applicable federal and state regulations, and professional standards of practice.
