About The Position
Suncoast Psychiatry is seeking an experienced, bilingual Spanish-speaking Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join its growing outpatient team in Lutz, Florida. The role provides comprehensive psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, treatment planning, and ongoing follow-up. The successful candidate will manage an outpatient patient panel independently while collaborating and consulting with the clinical team. The practice offers a supportive environment, administrative and clinical support, and opportunities to build long-term patient relationships and grow professionally.
Requirements
- Master's or doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Current PMHNP-BC certification.
- Active Florida APRN license.
- Active DEA registration.
- Previous experience practicing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
- Strong psychiatric assessment and medication-management skills.
- Ability to independently manage an outpatient patient panel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications.
- Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust medications and treatment plans as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and ongoing care.
- Collaborate, when appropriate, with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries and standards.
- Stay current on evidence-based practices, emerging treatments, and developments in psychiatric care.
- Independently manage an outpatient patient panel while valuing collaboration and consultation with the clinical team.
