About The Position
TeamHealth is seeking a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner or psychiatric physician assistant to provide behavioral health care to older adults in post-acute and long-term care settings, including SNF, LTC, ALF, and IRF facilities. The full-time role is scheduled 3–4 days per week, Monday through Friday, with onsite patient care and remote documentation. The position covers Buffalo’s Northtowns and Southtowns and offers clinical autonomy, flexible scheduling, organizational support, and back-end infrastructure without the administrative responsibilities of private practice.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted New York license as a PMHNP-C or Psych PA-C.
- Active DEA registration or willingness to obtain one.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with older adults or post-acute care is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and mental status examinations.
- Diagnose and treat psychiatric, behavioral, and neurocognitive disorders in older adults.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications.
- Evaluate behavioral and safety concerns.
- Provide brief interventions and behavioral management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams across care settings.
