Per Diem Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
About The Position
The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a skilled, compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join its outpatient clinical team at the Pine Street Outpatient Clinic in Springfield, Massachusetts. This per diem role supports high-quality, team-based care for adults and youth in an outpatient community behavioral health setting. The role provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and clinical consultation for individuals and families across the care continuum in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. The position is on-site on Fridays for a full 8-hour day and pays $75.00–$88.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Massachusetts.
- State certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Unrestricted DEA registration.
- Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR).
- Registration with the Massachusetts Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP).
- Must not be suspended or excluded from participation in federal healthcare programs.
- Ability to work on-site at the Pine Street clinic in Springfield, Massachusetts, on Fridays for a full 8-hour day.
- Strong clinical acumen in assessing, diagnosing, and managing complex behavioral health disorders.

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and ongoing treatment for adults and youth experiencing behavioral health conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice nurses, psychologists, social workers, and nurses to deliver holistic, team-based care.
- Order, review, and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Participate in designing individualized treatment plans within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide clinical consultation to multidisciplinary team members.
- Engage guardians, families, and support networks when clinically indicated.
- Accurately and promptly document evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans within the EHR.
