About The Position

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management at the Siletz Community Health Clinic, and offer therapy or counseling when indicated. The role includes assessing patients, documenting and navigating the E.H.R. system independently, providing treatment and follow-up, and counseling patients on diet, disease, and therapy. The incumbent may also serve in other areas of their discipline as necessary.

Requirements

Graduate degree in nursing with a focus on psychiatric nursing.
License to practice medicine in the State of Oregon.
Ability to achieve and maintain appropriate board certification and Oregon licensure.
Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clinic staff, tribal members, and outside health professionals.
Possess, or be able to obtain, licensure and registration to prescribe and dispense narcotics and controlled drugs.
Ability to work with a wide variety of people, communicate effectively, and relate to tribal and community members, staff, and federal, state, and local health agencies.
Current healthcare provider CPR certification or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
Must be eligible for malpractice insurance.
Valid Oregon driver's license and insurance, and eligibility to drive a GSA vehicle.

Responsibilities

Obtain patients’ health histories, systematically and accurately record findings, and critically evaluate them.
Document and navigate the E.H.R. system independently.
Provide patient care and treatment, including follow-up.
Instruct and counsel patients on diet, disease, and therapy.
Provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management, and offer therapy or counseling when indicated.
Serve in other areas of the incumbent’s discipline as necessary.
