Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
About The Position
CHE Behavioral Health Services is hiring a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join its clinician-led, APA-approved behavioral health team. The organization serves adults and geriatric patients through partnered facilities. This role is based in the Granite Bay, California area and offers full-time or part-time options, with fee-for-service or salaried compensation. Clinicians can create a Monday–Friday schedule between 7 AM and 7 PM. There are no nights, weekends, or on-call duties, and the position offers a consistent caseload with no cancellations. The PMHNP provides psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits, develops and evaluates treatment plans, and prescribes and manages psychotropic medications. The role collaborates with an integrated care team and supports diagnosis and consultation on complex clinical cases.
Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in Psychiatric/Mental Health.
- ANCC PMHNP certification.
- Active DEA license.
- Experience in psychotropic medication management.
- At least 2 years of experience is required.
- Family Nurse Practitioners with 3–5 years of psychiatric experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications.
- Collaborate with an integrated care team of psychiatrists, psychologists, LCSWs, and nursing staff.
- Distinguish and diagnose psychological versus physiological disorders.
- Consult on complex or unusual clinical cases.
