About The Position

Athena Care has been offering high quality, accessible mental health care for over twenty years. We are an insurance-based practice growing across Tennessee. We offer psychological testing, IOP/PHP, Spravato/IM Ketamine, TMS, psychotherapy, group therapy, and general psychiatry. We are looking for a therapist near Knoxville to join our team, but are open to candidates elsewhere in TN. We are seeking a clinician who is curious about people, finds energy in working with a diverse patient population, and cares deeply about the humans sitting across from them. The ideal candidate is fully licensed and boarded as a PMHNP-BC and ready to practice independently, but also values collaboration and a supportive team environment. We combine rigor and high-quality care with a fun and friendly work culture, with a staff that handles operations so clinicians can focus on patients. We offer the ideal balance of a small group practice feel with strong business expertise and technology.

Requirements

Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Tennessee APRN/RN licensure in good standing
Board certification in psychiatry
Current, valid DEA registration
Comfortable with EMR systems and standard tech tools
HIPAA-savvy and committed to ethical, patient-centered practice

Nice To Haves

Prior experience providing mental health services
BLS Certification

Responsibilities

Provide outpatient psychiatric care to adults, adolescents, and/or children navigating behavioral health challenges.
Conduct psychiatric evaluations.
Diagnose behavioral health conditions.
Develop treatment plans.
Prescribe and manage medications.
Write progress notes.
Collaborate regularly with the broader care team.
Keep documentation timely and accurate in our EMR.
Maintain licensure and DEA registration.
Act as a thoughtful, engaged member of the team.
