About The Position

The Ohio Veterans Homes, part of the Ohio Department of Veterans Services, are trauma-informed care long-term care facilities focused on providing excellent care to Ohio’s Veterans. The Veteran Homes provide direct nursing home care at facilities in Sandusky and Georgetown as well as domiciliary living to qualified veterans in Sandusky. This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance programs, developing and implementing nursing policies and procedures, and serving as a liaison between nursing/medical services and other disciplines. The role assumes leadership of nursing personnel on a designated nursing unit, prepares for audits and surveys, and assists with quality improvement projects and clinical metrics. The manager also develops, implements, and evaluates the agency’s Wound Care Program, acts as a resource person, and leads the investigation, tracking, and reporting of sentinel and adverse events. All other duties as assigned will also be part of the responsibilities. Schedule details will be discussed at the interview.

Requirements

  • Current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code
  • 36 months experience in psychiatric nursing or delivery of nursing services to persons with developmental disabilities
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in nursing
  • 18 months training or 18 months experience in supervision
  • 18 months training or 18 months experience in management
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in counseling
  • 12 months training or 12 months experience in public relations

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, implementation & monitoring of quality assurance programs
