Requirements
- Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- Six months of experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with mental health or physical illness or disabilities
- Certification as a Nurse Aide or Nursing Assistant through the Pennsylvania Department of Health
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Able to perform essential job functions
- Conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening
- Conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living tasks including hygiene, meals, and room care
- Use communication techniques and crisis management skills to guide patient interactions
- Follow hospital procedures and infection control practices to maintain a secure environment
- Monitor and report patient behavior, condition, and changes to nursing staff
- Support individualized treatment plans and help patients participate in scheduled activities
- Document patient care information clearly and accurately in medical records
