About The Position

The Psychiatric Aide provides group psychosocial rehabilitation services to adults and participates with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate effective therapeutic services. The role includes supporting residents’ socialization and daily activities, addressing their concerns and goals, and assisting with crisis intervention as needed. The position is part-time casual and requires weekend availability. Shifts are 7 a.m.–3 p.m. and 2 p.m.–10 p.m. The position is located at 901 S Ashland Ave, Chicago, Illinois.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• Patience and the ability to manage stress.
• Compassion, tolerance, and understanding for older adults.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA standards.

Nice To Haves

• CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide socialization and stimulation to residents in the facility.
• Assist with crisis intervention as needed.
• Address residents’ concerns and goals while maintaining constant communication with residents and their social workers.
• Monitor or assist during smoking times.
• Assist during facility mealtimes.
• Assist with residents’ mail delivery.
• Assist with resident inspections upon entry.
• Participate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate effective therapeutic services.
