About The Position

The Psych Aide provides direct contact with each assigned patient to monitor responses to services & identify problem areas. The Psych Aide provides physical, emotional &/or cognitive patient care in an appropriate, safe manner. They act as a liaison with various departments of LCMH to ensure patient safety and quality care based on patient needs. This role involves utilizing effective crisis intervention techniques and conducting environment and patient safety duties such as room inspections, patient searches, belonging searches, and monitoring visitors for contraband. The Psych Aide communicates abnormal variances of physical data (vital signs, pain, etc.) and emotional/cognitive data (tearful, hallucinating, etc.) to appropriate staff. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Sufficient experience in working with mentally ill persons, addicted persons or in providing personal care services.
  • Crisis Response Training, CPR.
  • Ability to communicate with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
  • Requires emotional stability and resilience.
  • Must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.
  • Exhibits organizational and leadership ability.
  • Shows ability to gain & maintain support and respect of co-workers.

Responsibilities
