About The Position

Scotland Health Care System is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Tech to join our Nursing: Med Surg 2E team at Scotland Memorial Hospital. This is a full-time position with a 1st shift schedule (7a-7p). As a Patient Care Tech, you will perform routine personal care, assist patients with daily living activities, and support nurses in providing safe and high-quality care. We are a community-owned, not-for-profit organization committed to delivering compassionate healthcare and fostering a culture of caring for both our patients and our employees.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina CNA listing
  • BLS American Heart certification
  • Aegis
  • 1 Year Cna Experience
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine personal care and assists with activities of daily living for patients.
  • Assists patients with body mechanics such as: ambulation, turning, positioning, transfer to wheelchairs/stretchers, and assists with range of motion.
  • Performs special procedures as assigned and notifies the nurse of any abnormal findings.
  • Documents nursing assistant care provided to patients according to scope and nursing policy and procedure.
  • Observes infection control measures.
  • Performs clerical duties in maintaining reports and records of the patient care unit.
  • Performs other duties delegated by licensed nurse.
  • Follows patient safety guidelines (for example, patient identifiers, labeling specimens at the bedside, etc.).
  • Admits patients and assists in completing and recording admission data as applicable within scope and nursing policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development through the life span of the patient and the ability to meet the needs of and provide care for patients across all age categories (Neonatal/Infant, Pediatrics, Adolescence, Young Adult/Adult, Adult/Middle-Aged, Geriatric).
  • Responsible for self growth and education to maintain competence.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, orderly working area.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or required.
