About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join its team in Worcester, Massachusetts. The role involves collecting blood and other specimens, maintaining accurate patient and specimen records, preparing samples for testing, and providing customer service. The float position involves working with varied patients, team members, clinics, and locations, with travel to additional sites as needed. The planned schedule is an eight-hour shift Monday through Friday, with hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., plus rotating Saturdays.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification, completion of a phlebotomy training program, or at least six months of phlebotomy experience.
When work experience is not the basis of qualification, phlebotomy certification or training must be from an accredited agency.
Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
Must be at least 21 years old.

Nice To Haves

Current or previous Labcorp experience.
At least one year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and related purposes.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Process billing information and collect payments when required.
Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
Provide superior customer service to patients.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
Travel to additional sites when needed.
