About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a phlebotomist to join its team in the San Antonio, Texas area. The role performs blood collection and other specimen collection, handles patient and specimen records, processes billing and payments when required, and provides customer service. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel to additional sites may be needed, and reliable transportation is required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation is required for travel to additional sites.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy certification or completion of a phlebotomy training program.
• One year or more of experience as a phlebotomist.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
