About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist will operate advanced, custom-configured wine label printing presses, specifically the Gallus EMS510 (20”, 11 color UV servo-driven press) and the Nilpeter FA4 (17”, 11 color UV servo-driven press). This role involves providing technical and engineering support for these presses, including testing, qualification, troubleshooting, and process validation. Duties encompass analyzing press performance, conducting diagnostic print runs, performing equipment inspections, and making engineering-level adjustments to meet quality, registration, and mechanical standards. The specialist will also maintain the work cell according to 5S standards, utilize the Radius MIS system for job configuration and data tracking, and review/approve tooling files before ordering. Additionally, the role involves participating in engineering qualification, validation, and acceptance testing of new or modified presses, evaluating print quality, registration accuracy, output speed, mechanical reliability, and tooling compatibility. Machine capability studies will be performed, and technical documentation for process improvements will be prepared. The specialist will support capital equipment approval processes and provide technical guidance to press operators on calibration, troubleshooting, and advanced printing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing engineering technology.
  • 1 year of experience in the skillsets listed in the job description.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Gallus EMS510 - 20” 11 color UV servo driven modular platform press.
  • Operate Nilpeter FA4-17” 11 color UV servo driven modular platform press.
  • Troubleshoot printing processes.
  • Inspect equipment.
  • Maintain the work cell to a proper 5S standard at all times.
  • Use Radius (MIS) system.
  • Approve all tooling files before tools are ordered.
  • Analyze press performance.
  • Conduct diagnostic print runs.
  • Perform equipment inspections.
  • Make engineering-level adjustments to ensure equipment meets quality, registration, and mechanical standards.
  • Maintain the work cell in compliance with 5S organizational requirements.
  • Utilize the Radius Manufacturing Information System (MIS) for job configuration, production documentation, and technical data tracking.
  • Review, verify, and approve tooling files before procurement to ensure compatibility with machine configuration and production specifications.
  • Participate in engineering qualification, validation, and acceptance testing of new or modified printing presses.
  • Evaluate print quality, registration accuracy, output speed capability, mechanical reliability, and tooling compatibility.
  • Perform machine capability studies.
  • Prepare technical documentation for process improvements.
  • Support capital equipment approval processes, including the assessment and sign-off of new printing presses prior to full production integration.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to press operators regarding calibration standards, troubleshooting methods, and advanced printing process interactions.
