About The Position

This role involves operating and maintaining assigned equipment to meet production standards and quality requirements. The Press Operator & Project Specialist will also participate in and recommend process improvement initiatives, training, and other special projects as identified by the Vice President of Operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Good mechanical and math skills
• Technical problem-solving skills
• 3 years related offset press experience
• Advanced knowledge in high-volume printing and finishing
• Graphic Art knowledge is required to regulate the flow of ink, monitor ink density, position on paper and registration and adjust press throughout production run to maintain specific registration and color density

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret job jackets to understand customer needs and communicate instructions to co-workers.
• Perform manual and machine operator tasks related to the set-up, maintenance, and operations of the press.
• Give direction to the machine crew during production and downtime, providing leadership when necessary.
• Constantly monitor the quality of the finished product to ensure customer satisfaction, verifying quantity, stock specifications, colors, and special printing instructions.
• Identify visual defects and apply correcting solutions.
• Perform general preventive maintenance and inspection of the machine.
• Follow all required safety procedures, including PPE and Ergonomics, to protect the health and safety of all employees.
• Assist with housekeeping in the Press area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
