About The Position

MAT Industries, Inc. is seeking Press Operators for their first shift. This role operates within an air-conditioned manufacturing environment. The company emphasizes work-life balance with a schedule of Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm, allowing employees to be off almost every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus and starts at $19.50/hour. MAT Industries is a leading manufacturer of air compressors in Jackson, TN.

Requirements

2+ years' work experience operating presses.
2+ years' experience operating overhead cranes.
2+ years' experience with LINK systems automation controls.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Responsibilities

Setting up and running presses, occasionally progressive presses.
Following all safety regulations and encouraging co-workers to do the same.
Following all company policies and procedures and encouraging co-workers to do the same.
Reading and interpreting blueprints for product specifications.
Conducting quality inspections of work.
Maintaining equipment in good working condition and reporting maintenance and safety concerns.
Conducting repairs, modifications, and retrofits on production items.
Providing data to assist in monitoring and tracking project status.
Assisting in training junior employees and inspecting their work.
Ensuring accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
Signing off on completed work orders and quality of work.
Maintaining a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
Actively participating in the development of a LEAN manufacturing culture.
