Provider Partnerships Manager

•$85,000 - $117,000

About The Position

Brave Health is seeking an experienced behavioral health leader to grow its presence, referral network, and community partnerships across Illinois. The role combines knowledge of the behavioral health ecosystem with relationship-building and business development capabilities. The successful candidate will use experience across healthcare settings—such as clinical care, health plans and payers, value-based care, provider organizations, and business development—to understand how patients move through the behavioral health system. This is more than a traditional sales role: the manager will represent Brave Health in the Illinois behavioral health community and build trusted relationships with providers, health plans, community organizations, and other stakeholders. The position is based in the greater Chicago area, with primary responsibility for Illinois and potential additional responsibility across neighboring markets. Regular travel throughout Illinois and periodic travel within neighboring Midwest markets are expected.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of progressive experience in healthcare or behavioral health, with meaningful experience across multiple parts of the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Experience working within or closely alongside a health plan or payer, ideally in behavioral health case management, care management, network management, provider relations, or a related function.
  • Experience within a healthcare provider organization and a strong understanding of provider operations, patient access, referrals, and care delivery.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, partnerships, provider relations, sales, or another growth-oriented role, with measurable results.
  • Deep understanding of the Illinois behavioral health landscape, including health plans, provider organizations, community resources, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to build credibility and influence with stakeholders ranging from frontline clinicians and community partners to health plan and health system executives.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to turn market knowledge and relationships into actionable growth opportunities.
  • Ability to independently develop and execute a territory strategy while working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout Illinois, particularly the greater Chicago market, and periodically within neighboring Midwest markets.

  • A combination of behavioral health clinical experience, health plan or payer experience, provider organization experience, business development or growth experience, and deep relationships and credibility in the Illinois behavioral health community.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, establish, and foster relationships with healthcare providers and payer organizations—including primary care practices, specialty physicians, behavioral health organizations, hospital discharge teams, case management groups, and other referral partners—to increase patient referrals.
