Requirements

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to read blueprints and have inspection knowledge of how to properly inspect parts using micrometers, verniers, height gages, and other measuring devices.
Previous or current machining experience.
Possess mechanical aptitude.
Fluent in the use of computers.
Interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

CAM & CAD software experience preferred.
Precision machining experience preferred.
Press brake set-up and operation preferred.

Responsibilities

Produce prototype parts from raw materials per print specifications.
Must be able to understand and use all forms of fabrication equipment including but not limited to: shears, press brakes, CNC and manual mills, CNC lathes, drill presses, surface grinders, cut off and band saws and all equipment available to them.
Properly inspect parts.
Work with Prototype Department leadership on relaying information about the status and completion of jobs and improvements for the department.
Work with AME’s & Product Design Engineers giving recommendations for DFM (Design For Manufacturing).
Occasionally attend educational seminars on new and existing machining / fabrication processes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas (5S).
Perform other related duties as required.
