About The Position

JP Logistics & Consulting, LLC (JPLC) is seeking a full-time Protocol Specialist to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) at Elizabeth City, NC. The role involves organizing and coordinating base-wide tours, managing visitor itineraries, setting up and operating audio/visual equipment for meetings, planning and managing ceremonies and social functions, and providing administrative support. The specialist will ensure quality service and may occasionally work outside normal business hours.

Requirements

  • Be a citizen of the U.S.
  • Possess the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess knowledge and ability to perform simple arithmetic.
  • Possess knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Possess excellent ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Possess the ability to work with minimal Government oversight.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in protocol and event planning.
  • Experience applying protocol and etiquette to organize events, coordinate ceremonies, and manage receptions, while considering the status of dignitaries, military and civilian representatives, and high-ranking officials.

Nice To Haves

  • Obtain the Military/DoW Protocol Specialist certification within twelve (12) months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and coordinating base-wide tours, including itineraries and transportation, for distinguished visits.
  • Conducting weekly tours for newly hired employees, visitors, and others as directed.
  • Leading specialized tours of ALC for visiting groups.
  • Greeting arriving aircraft.
  • Arranging transportation for visitors.
  • Escorting guests throughout the base complex.
  • Managing and coordinating visitor itineraries.
  • Setting up and operating audio/visual equipment for meetings.
  • Managing and coordinating the schedule for the Commanding Officer’s Conference Rooms.
  • Attending designated meetings, recording minutes, and publishing them.
  • Maintaining and updating weekly briefing materials.
  • Keeping the Command Brief (ALC101) current and accurate.
  • Planning and managing ceremonies, including retirements, promotions, and awards.
  • Providing support on protocol matters, particularly with invitations, scripts, and programs.
  • Organizing and assisting in hosting social functions for the Wardroom.
  • Coordinating the recognition program for Enlisted Person of the Quarter.
  • Assisting the CG-AIR Commanding Officer’s Secretary.
  • Assisting with other ALC and Command Administrative duties.
