Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician
About The Position
The Prosthetic/Orthotic Technician is responsible for the overall fabrication, repair, and maintenance of prosthetic and orthotic devices. This position is also responsible for shop cleanliness, safety, and production flow. Altru offers a comprehensive benefits package to its full- and part-time employees. Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 Days of Start Date | Learning Management System
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
Responsibilities
- Assesses prosthetic technical requirements, including physical assessment data, range of motion, prosthetic requirements, material selection, etc.
- Formulates fabrication requirements through consultation, analysis of design needs, and development of functional goals.
- Complies with practice management plans, policies, and procedures.
- Utilizes a maintenance follow-up plan that ensures successful outcomes, patient health, and quality of life.
- Provides education and training to enhance knowledge of prosthetic care.
- Implements fabrication requirements , including application of physical data, material selection, fabrication, evaluation, and assessment.
- Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
