The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office (MCAO) is now accepting applications from law school graduates interested in participating in the newly enacted Arizona Lawyer Apprentice Program (ALAP). To be eligible for a position in this program, applicants must meet all conditions outlined in the Arizona Supreme Court’s Administrative Order no. 2024-148 which includes a score on the Uniform Bar Exam between 260 and 269. To practice law under the ALAP, the individual must work in an approved position, such as working for a public law practice, which includes the MCAO. To be eligible for full membership in the State Bar, a lawyer apprentice must successfully complete 24 months of employment with an eligible employer. Applicants hired into this position will work as a lawyer apprentice in a full-time Prosecutor I position for a 24-month supervisory period. At the end of the supervisory period, employment will continue in that position if the lawyer apprentice successfully achieves regular membership in the State Bar of Arizona at the end of that period. The starting salary for a Prosecutor I is currently $82,250 annually. The full salary range is $82,250 - $106,375 annually.
