About The Position

The Propulsion Base Software Low-Level Driver Engineer designs, develops, integrates, and validates low-level driver software for propulsion and electrified powertrain control modules. The role covers embedded driver requirements analysis, architecture, coding, integration, and verification, as well as development of hardware interfaces for peripherals and external devices, including HSD/LSD, SPI, I2C, H-Bridge, and motor-control interfaces such as PWM, FOC, and position/speed sensing. The engineer develops and integrates MCAL components, hardware interface drivers, and complex device drivers, and configures AUTOSAR Basic Software modules such as OS, IOHWAB, FEE, and WDG using Vector or ETAS toolchains. The position also supports ECU hardware bring-up and early software enablement, and performs hardware-software integration using schematics, device reference manuals, and microcontroller documentation. The role involves debugging and troubleshooting integration issues with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers, trace tools, and emulators. It also includes optimizing drivers for deterministic real-time performance, memory efficiency, and reliable peripheral operation on multicore microcontrollers; collaborating with hardware, systems, controls, and supplier teams; and aligning software with AUTOSAR architecture, RTE integration, and system resource usage. The engineer participates in design and code reviews and technical inspections, maintains software design specifications, interface definitions, and test plans, and performs unit, integration, and target-hardware verification and validation, including white-box, black-box, and gray-box testing. The role ensures compliance with automotive software standards and processes, including MISRA-C, ASPICE, and ISO 26262, contributes to process and tool improvements, and supports vehicle program milestones and production software releases.
