About The Position

Arc is on a mission to electrify the marine industry by rethinking powertrains, software, and vessel designs. Having proven its technology with consumers, Arc is now scaling production and extending its platform to commercial applications, including tugs, ferries, and defense. The company has secured signed contracts and a substantial pipeline, indicating a significant opportunity in the growing electric marine sector. The Proposal Specialist will be responsible for owning the entire proposal process for Arc's commercial business, from initial drafting to final submission. This involves writing and coordinating commercial volumes, managing pursuit timelines, and maintaining a content library for bids. The role requires an individual who is passionate about the mission, moves quickly, takes ownership, and pays close attention to detail. This is a full-time, on-site position at the Los Angeles headquarters.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in proposal writing, proposal coordination, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly about technical subject matter for a non-technical audience.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
  • Comfortable interviewing subject matter experts to extract content that doesn’t yet exist on paper.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in the marine, maritime, or clean energy industries.
  • Experience in desktop publishing or design tools.
  • Familiarity with commercial procurement or bid process.
  • Comfortable pushing at a fast but sustainable pace.
  • Enthusiasm for boating and the water.

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and editing proposal narrative, including executive summaries, capability statements, and case studies for commercial pursuits.
  • Translating input from Engineering, Product, and Sales subject matter experts into clear, customer-focused writing, responsive to solicitation requirements.
  • Building and maintaining proposal schedules, calendars, and checklists for each commercial pursuit.
  • Tracking submission requirements and confirming on-time, compliant delivery.
  • Supporting kickoff meetings and following up to keep contributions on schedule.
