About The Position

The SLSNE Proposal Specialist will directly support the Proposal Director and work with other proposal team members to develop compelling and concise winning proposals. This role involves overseeing and participating in all phases of proposal development, from initial qualification through to interview stages, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions. The focus will be on small to medium scale pursuits, with collaboration on larger scale pursuits. The specialist will work closely with pursuit teams, including estimators, engineers, and business development professionals, to integrate efforts and develop cohesive proposals. They will also participate in brainstorming sessions and critical concept meetings to formulate winning strategies, develop compelling content that communicates value propositions, differentiators, and technical capabilities, and ensure all proposals adhere to client requirements, company standards, and industry best practices. Additionally, the role includes overseeing form and administrative sections, contributing to process improvements, and maintaining/updating project and resume data in business development systems.

Requirements

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks to meet tight deadlines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University in Communications, English, marketing, or a related program.
  • Experience working in the AEC industry as a proposal professional
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in proposal management or writing

Responsibilities

  • Oversee/participate in all phases of proposal development, from initial qualification through to interview stages, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Focus on small to medium scale pursuits in terms of complexity. For larger scale pursuits, the individual will act as a collaborator.
  • Work closely with pursuit teams, including estimators, engineers, and business development professionals, to integrate efforts and develop cohesive proposals.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and critical concept meetings to formulate winning strategies tailored to each pursuit.
  • Develop compelling content that effectively communicates our value proposition, differentiators, and technical capabilities.
  • Ensure all proposals adhere to client requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the form and administrative sections in proposals.
  • Contribute to the continuous enhancement of proposal development processes, templates, and tools to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update project and resume data in business development systems, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for proposal and reporting purposes.
