About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Proposal Manager to drive market growth and lead high-profile, client-centric proposal efforts. This role is crucial in positioning the company as a trusted partner for complex challenges across diverse markets including transportation, infrastructure, defence, and operations & maintenance. The Proposal Manager will collaborate with technical leaders, business development, and capture teams to develop winning proposals. The position involves managing all phases of the proposal process, ensuring RFP-compliant, competitive, and high-quality marketing materials, proposals, statements of qualification, and presentations. The role requires full ownership and leadership of proposal development, strategy, and delivery for pursuits of $1 million or more, or those deemed strategic, primarily supporting the Canada region. This is an ideal role for an individual with initiative, curiosity, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • A degree in a relevant field (i.e., Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or similar).
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in proposal coordination, project management, or proposals within the AEC industry.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Advanced writing skills and ability to transform complex technical information into client-centric narratives.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (including document management on SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Visio, and MS Project).
  • Comfortable with and willingness to use CoPilot and other AI tools, as approved by the company.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong listening skills, and the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • The initiative to proactively engage subject matter experts and champion proposals that clearly articulate our value to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end proposal development from kickoff through submission, ensuring compliant, client-focused, on-time deliverables.
  • Coordinate proposal activities, including scheduling, hosting reviews, assigning contributors, and maintaining clear communication.
  • Partner with capture, BD, technical, legal, commercial, marketing, and graphics teams to produce high-quality, cohesive submissions.
  • Develop and manage proposal schedules, compliance matrices, templates, and production tools.
  • Contribute and refine proposal content, translating complex technical information into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Ensure quality through editing and final reviews.
  • Oversee supporting requirements such as forms, certificates, graphics, RFI logs, SharePoint document control, CRM updates, and proposal closeout.
  • Mentor pursuit staff and support broader WinWork and growth initiatives.
  • Continuously improve proposal content and pursuit capabilities.
