About The Position

GFT is seeking an experienced Proposal Engineer to join their expanding Power Group. The role involves engaging in cutting-edge projects that drive the future of energy infrastructure, focusing on solutions for power transmission, distribution, and renewable energy. The team utilizes advanced technologies and creative problem-solving to meet diverse energy needs, aiming to enhance system reliability, safety, and efficiency while shaping the energy landscape for a resilient and sustainable future.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 8 + years progressive experience in proposals within power and utility industry.
  • Interest in or direct experience working in the consulting engineering profession.
  • Demonstrated ability with project management software and tools (Microsoft Project or similar) for scope, schedule and budget management.
  • Commitment to driving strong business performance, continuous improvement, and best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering License (PE).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project.
  • Experience with AI - Copilot.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the creation of Power proposals.
  • Develop technical proposals for power delivery projects, including substations, transmission lines, battery electric storage systems, solar farms and grid modernizations.
  • Balance competing deadlines for multiple design-build opportunities.
  • Coordinate and prepare cost estimates, schedules and risk assessments with engineering, procurement and construction teams.
  • Ensure proposals meet utility standards, codes and regulations.
  • Interface with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes and technical data.
  • Understand contract terms and participate in bid reviews.
  • Collaborate with sales, project management and operations to align proposal strategy with business goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends, emerging technologies and utility practices in power delivery.
