About The Position

Provide automated property management, inventory control, and shipping and receiving services to support the Office of Secure Transportation (OST) at the TSTS and other designated satellite training sites. This role involves performing a full range of government property technical support and staff assistance, including property management, inventory control, shipping and receiving, database management, and supply and equipment management. The position requires an understanding of Federal Property Management Regulations (FPMR), DOE Property Management Regulations (DOE-PMR), and supply chain management, with all activities complying with applicable federal, state, and ITP-OST policies and procedures, and contractual agreements with the Department of Energy.

Requirements

  • Academic high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • A minimum of four years on-the-job experience in a logistics-related position.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate DOE security clearance.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and related MS programs and office equipment.
  • Ability to learn, understand, and comply with the Federal Property Management Regulations (FPMR), the DOE Property Management Regulations (DOE-PMR), and the OST Personal Property Management Manual.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the Federal and DOE PMR process with an understanding of the FAR and DEAR.
  • Ability to lift 68 pounds.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan and interact with other personnel.
  • Ability to obtain license and certification to operate motor vehicles and any specialized equipment required for supporting and maintaining the requirements of the OST training program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and control all accountable property within an assigned custodial area, in coordination with federal and contractor oversight staff and the OST Property Management Program.
  • Maintain OST property records for an assigned custodial area in the OST property database.
  • Participate in all scheduled VPMS and property meetings, conferences, and training events.
  • Serve as the TSTS key staff person for automated supply management functions, including database management and other automated systems.
  • Assist in Logistics duties as directed by the TSTS Property Lead, including the setup and teardown of ranges and other training facilities.
  • Manage the excess property program to ensure cradle-to-grave accountability of OST Equipment.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by studying relevant laws, regulations, orders, and policies; attending workshops; reviewing publications; establishing professional liaisons; and participating in professional associations.
  • Ensure integrated safety management principles are applied to all duties.
  • Perform all activities and tasks in a safe and healthful manner.
  • Operate assigned OST government vehicles in accordance with Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Maintain all driver's licensing and certification requirements and understand DOT regulations for the safe and timely movement of vehicles and/or equipment.
  • Serve customers by focusing on quality, anticipating customer needs, responding to inquiries, and satisfying customer expectations.
  • Contribute to team effort by focusing on ITP-OST mission, goals, and objectives; accomplishing tasks professionally and timely; keeping members informed; establishing professional working relationships; working cooperatively with team members; assisting others; and accomplishing other duties as assigned.
  • Provide support to offsite and local training activities, including supporting road-blocks and serving as an exercise role-player, when approved by the Program Manager.
