About The Position

This temporary position is within the Supply Chain and Logistics Warehouse, which serves as a primary medical supply picking and distribution staging point. The role involves performing receiving, stocking, data entry, picking, and delivery tasks to ensure timely and sufficient completion of daily requirements for medical supplies and linen. The position also requires maintaining compliance with organizational guidelines and policies, stocking and emptying ScrubAvail dispensers, emptying chute rooms, performing preventive maintenance on Pyxis/ParEx supply machines, and maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment. Responsibilities extend to ensuring shelves are properly erected, clean, neat, and marked, maintaining warehouse cleanliness, reporting facility deficiencies, providing proper care for equipment, and maintaining knowledge of departmental policies and safety procedures. Additionally, the role may involve driving organizational vehicles, assisting with vehicle maintenance, maintaining driver logs, and performing emergency roadside assistance. The employee may encounter soiled linen and handle hazardous items like fluids, with training provided for safe handling. The work environment may expose employees to various weather elements, fluctuating noise levels, dust, vibrations, and occasional wet or slippery areas.

Requirements

  • Entry level experience performing stores (retail) and inventory work
  • Training or experience providing knowledge of inventory control systems, and transportation agencies and shipping methods (Amazon Purchasing).
  • Knowledge of spoken and written English at the high school graduate level.
  • Conflict resolution skills and the ability to demonstrate effective time management.
  • Must be able to maintain compliance with organizational guidelines and policies.
  • Driver’s license and driving record that meets OHSU’s driving requirements.
  • Hazmat certification within 3 months of hire through OHSU.
  • Forklift training for Warehouse staff within 3 months of hire through OHSU.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of warehouse experience and two years of customer service experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of hospital materials management distribution systems.
  • Medical supply familiarity, knowledge of OHSU systems, and medical terminology is preferred.
  • Understanding how to set min/max’s.
  • Experience using handheld counting devices.
  • Forklift training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs receiving, stocking, data entry, picking, delivery, and functions as necessary to ensure required daily tasks are completed on time, and sufficiently, to meet the customer’s needs for medical supplies and linen.
  • Performs requirements of, and maintains compliance with, organizational guidelines and policies.
  • Stocks and empties ScrubAvail dispensers, and empties chute rooms as necessary to ensure an accurate and adequate supply of scrubs and linen are available to meet customer needs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance functions of the Pyxis/ParEx supply machines/areas as necessary to ensure accurate restocking and patient charging.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
  • Ensures shelves are properly erected, clean, neat, properly stocked, and marked with product information.
  • Ensures the warehouse is clean, packaging removed, and non-stock products are neatly arranged.
  • Ensures facility deficiencies are reported.
  • Provides proper care and regular services to equipment, logs, and reports deficiencies.
  • Maintains knowledge of, adheres to, and knows the locations for, departmental policy, procedure, safety, and MSDS manuals.
  • When tasked, drives organizational vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, assist Logistics Fleet and Warehouse supervisors with the maintenance and refueling, maintain driver's log, and fills out vehicle inspection reports as necessary.
  • Maintains special equipment as assigned i.e. tire chains, inclement weather accessories, tire jacks, etc.
  • Performs emergency roadside service to vehicles such as changing a flat tire.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
