About The Position

Wesley is a long-standing non-profit organization committed to assisting individuals and families struggling with poverty through programs focused on children and family services, housing and homelessness, and newcomer resettlement. The Property Services Coordinator will support property services at the Halton location and across the organization as needed. This role involves general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of equipment and properties, overseeing maintenance workers, and coordinating projects. The position reports to the Manager, Property Services and is a full-time, permanent, non-unionized role requiring 40 hours per week with an annual salary of $57,310.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 5+ years of building maintenance
  • Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and on-call independently in the absence of supervision
  • Ability to handle the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at least 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily activities that ensure effective and efficient management of the properties in Halton and achieve operational plans.
  • Implement major and oversee minor preventative maintenance and repair projects, including equipment, painting/finishes, plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating/cooling and base building systems.
  • Keep accurate records and provide timely reports as needed, including using an online maintenance tracking system and following petty cash protocols.
  • Coordinate projects including liaising with colleagues internally, scheduling external service providers, preparing entry notices, and overseeing maintenance work being completed on-site.
  • Oversee maintenance workers, including monitoring compliance with organizational policies, best practices and relevant regulations, and actively resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Deliver supports and training to staff involved with maintenance/property services.
  • Comply with all of Wesley’s policies, government regulations and industry standards, and work with Manager to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and assist the Manager with health & safety requirements including but not limited to: conducting fire drills and maintaining safety equipment.
  • Act as emergency on-call contact for all properties on a rotating basis, for fire, flood, power outages and other emergencies involving maintenance.
  • Participate in planning, process development and quality improvement associated with property services.
