About The Position

The Appalachian State University Police Department promotes a safe and secure environment for learning, living, and working through a community-oriented policing philosophy. The department advances public safety by fostering partnerships, preventing and investigating crime, providing education and awareness programs, conducting proactive patrols, and maintaining a highly trained workforce. The department delivers comprehensive law enforcement and emergency response services and enforces state laws and university policies on a 24-hour basis. Property Security Officers support the department’s public safety mission by providing professional security services and patrol coverage across university properties. Through proactive monitoring, reporting safety and security concerns, and documenting violations of university policies, Property Security Officers help protect university assets, enhance campus safety, and serve as a visible security presence for the university community.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalency
• Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
