About The Position
Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Insurance Company is seeking a Property Pricing Intern to work out of their Alpharetta, Georgia office. This internship offers the opportunity to gain knowledge of fundamental insurance concepts, including coverages and pricing, and an understanding of basic commercial property insurance pricing and data organization. The company is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies, offering financial strength, stability, and large company benefits within a friendly, small company atmosphere.
Requirements
- Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
- Major in business, math, or equivalent
- Work with detail and accuracy
- Strong math skills
- Excellent grammar, proofreading and written communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
Responsibilities
- Collection and analysis of data to determine pricing of various property characteristics
- Interaction with state departments of insurance to gain approval of desired rates where needed, and interaction with internal programming team to ensure accurate implementation of rates.
- Communication of pricing decisions and results via regular and ad hoc reports
- Regular review of live policies to check for accurate rating
