About The Position

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Insurance Company, a member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of insurance companies, is seeking a Property Pricing Intern to work out of their Alpharetta, Georgia office. The internship involves 15-30 hours per week during the school year and 30-40 hours per week in the summer, with working hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior
Major in business, math, or equivalent
Work with detail and accuracy
Strong math skills
Excellent grammar, proofreading and written communication skills
Ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

Collection and analysis of data to determine pricing of various property characteristics
Interaction with state departments of insurance to gain approval of desired rates where needed, and interaction with internal programming team to ensure accurate implementation of rates.
Communication of pricing decisions and results via regular and ad hoc reports
Regular review of live policies to check for accurate rating
