About The Position

Kimco Realty Corp. is seeking interns to join its collaborative, challenging, and growth-oriented team and begin developing a career in real estate. This summer internship lasts approximately eight weeks and involves working approximately 40 hours per week, with flexible start and end dates. Interns will be paid $20 per hour.

Interns will gain exposure to property operations, tenant and stakeholder support, capital projects and vendors, and administrative and financial activities. The role also supports professional development, including communication, responsiveness, and organization skills, and provides insight into Kimco’s culture and operating standards.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in a business-oriented major; a focus in real estate is preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of internal and external customers.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn internal systems.

Responsibilities

• Participate in site visits and property walks.
• Support day-to-day property management activities and follow-up.
• Learn how operational decisions affect tenants, customers, and the asset.
• Assist with tenant communication and coordination.
• Observe tenant interactions and property tours.
• Learn how property management supports tenant success.
• Gain exposure to capital projects and ongoing maintenance work.
• Help track vendors, scopes of work, and documentation.
• Learn expectations around quality, accountability, and follow-through.
• Support basic administrative and financial tasks.
• Understand cost awareness and budgeting at the property level.
• Learn how internal systems support efficient operations.
• Build clear and professional communication skills.
